Welcome to website of TV 22, a student run television production club at Eastern Connecticut State University! The club was started in 2003 with the pilot of the game show, Eastern Expedition. The line-up quickly expanded with the addition of a weekly live newscast, News 22. Meeting weekly for the newscast and monthly for the game show, members of TV 22 learn new production lessons and are able to hone skills learned in Eastern television production classes. TV 22 members work as a team to bring together a show from pre-production to air. Through committed membership, club members have an opportunity to take positions of leadership.TV 22 works closely with the Eastern departments of Communication and Media Services to make the shows the best they can be. The faculty advisors from the Communication department offer their years of production experience in order to help club members better themselves and the shows they work on in the club. Media Services works with the club to make sure shows get on the air.

Members of TV 22 also have opportunities to learn of real world production tools and techniques with a yearly trip to the concurrent National Association of Broadcasters and Broadcast Education Assocation in Las Vegas, NV, where Eastern Expedition won a BEA award. There members can see the latest-and-greatest in production technology, as well as learn crucial skills needed to enter the production job market.

Membership is open to anybody, whether or not they’re a Communication major. All you need is an interest in making television. Your work will be seen by the Eastern student body and the Windham/Willimantic community at large.

If you are interested in joining TV 22, please join us at one of our meetings on Thursdays from 6-8:30 PM. Tapings of News 22 are also done at this time. Don’t have time on Thursdays? No problem. Join us once a month for Eastern Expedition tapings. Keep checking the Lastest news section in the menu to the left, or the Expedition page for information on the next taping. Can’t make any day? Still no problem. We need people to submit package stories for the news, and people to edit both news stories and Eastern Expedition episodes.

Most importantly, we need people to watch. Check the Channel 22 page for show airing times, and be sure to spread the word that TV 22 produced shows are playing on a TV near you!
